Cova founding partner Tumelo Chipfupa will be in China for a week, meeting clients and swapping notes with delegates from other BRICS nations.

He will be in Tianjin as a guest of the Bank of China, attending the BRICS SME Cross border Investment and Trade Cooperation Conference. The conference seeks to promote trade and investment within BRICS countries by match-making among companies from different BRICS countries. The first day of the conference will be devoted to Matchmaking between enterprises and on the second day participants will get an opportunity to visit a Free Trade Zone.

He will also spend time in Beijing at the Headquarters of Cova’s client BAIC International. This will include a factory visit. The visit is an opportunity to build on will hopefully be a long-term relationship between BAIC and Cova.

Chinese FDI into South Africa is becoming an important part of Cova's business. A number of clients have joint ventures with Chinese multinationals, or have Chinese technology partners.
